Job Summary
The Senior Electric Vehicle Systems Engineer will be responsible for electric vehicle development activities, including high-voltage systems, battery systems, control systems, and autonomous capability integration. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert, developing solutions from concept through production.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Research to create the Customer Wide, Application Duty Cycle for the Engineering Team.
Lead the development of vehicle, sub-system, and component-level electric propulsion technical requirements.
Ensure vehicle requirements align with system capabilities under all operating conditions.
Lead the development of the system DFMEA.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards, including AutoSar, FMVSS, high-voltage safety, and electric charging standards.
Develop vehicle architectures from system conceptual level to component selection and integration.
Work with vendors to identify and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Ensure products are designed for reliability, serviceability, recyclability, and manufacturability.
Serve as a technical expert on batteries, charging, and drive components in electric vehicles.
Provide hands-on support for electric vehicle integration, development, and testing.
Maintain awareness of schedule, scope, budget, and quality from concept to end of life.
Drive continuous improvement by evaluating industry tools and techniques, collaborating with Electrical and Software Engineering teams.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Working knowledge of electric propulsion systems and high-voltage components.
Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Engineering Analysis software.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and adapt to changes.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make timely decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in team settings through collaborative, solutions-oriented approaches.
Hands-on Integration And Troubleshooting Experience Preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
Experience with INCA, Matlab, or other engineering software is a plus.
Ability to travel as required.
Education And Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in electric vehicle systems development.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Frequent walking, kneeling, squatting, and standing for extended periods
Work Environment
Professional office environment, primarily indoors, with access to standard office equipment.
Noise level: Typically quiet to moderate.
