Overview
Encantado Technical Solutions is seeking a Telecommunications Inspector to join our dynamic team providing support to our National Laboratory customer in Albuquerque, NM. The organization provides IT Infrastructure for enterprise services. They provide modern telecommunications systems for data, telephone, wireless, COMSEC, LAN/WAN, RF Microwave, and encryption capabilities with emphasis on securing and protecting the client’s information, standardization, and reducing heterogeneity.
Responsibilities
The Telecommunications Inspector responsibilities:
- Perform physical inspections of IDR rooms and capable maintenance
- Apply technical and operational knowledge to inspect and test new circuits or changes to existing circuits for functionality and adherence to the design plan
- Approve materials and equipment, industry and plant telecommunications requirements, and best practices
- Interact with an operating company or business segment to gain an understanding of the business environment, technical requirements, and organizational direction
- Collect, define, and organize detailed documentation
- Assist in defining and planning deliverables for assigned projects
- Manage and protect the plant infrastructure
- Understand and compile with project budgets
- Conceptualize constructs, tests, implement
- Operate integrated infrastructure solutions
- Lead continuous improvement activities
- Conduct visual and technical inspections in accordance with the customers Telecommunications Construction Specifications
Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque area as onsite work will be required.
Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizenship
- AA in Computer Science (or related field) plus 2 years job-related experience, in lieu of degree 5 years of job-related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy “Q” Clearance.
Required Skills:
- Operational knowledge of cable standards and experience using Tier I & Tier 2 test equipment is needed
- Extensive experience evaluating test results, extensive field experience testing copper and fiber, and posses the ability to track circuit detail
- Ability to read construction and cabling blueprints
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
- Physical ability to work outdoors and indoors at heights, and in confined spaces.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active DOE or DOD clearance.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships both internal and external to the department.
- BICSI Certification
