Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in nursing administration, home care, hospice care, and medical records management. This leadership role requires a strong understanding of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and Medicare, as well as the ability to manage nursing staff effectively while ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring adherence to standards of care and regulatory requirements.
- Manage nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster professional development.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance patient care quality and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient medical records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans and improve health outcomes.
- Monitor patient care systems to ensure effective delivery of services in home care and hospice settings.
- Conduct regular assessments of nursing practices and implement improvements as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting nursing administration.
Qualifications
- Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in practicing state.
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
- Current CPR certification.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required; advanced degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Proven experience in nursing administration or management within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, medical records management, HIPAA regulations, and Medicare guidelines.
- Experience in home care or hospice care is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on effective collaboration across departments.
- Ability to analyze complex situations, make informed decisions, and implement solutions effectively.
