What You’ll Do…
We are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful drafter for our research and development team. The successful candidate will collaborate with the team members on the mechanical and electrical aspects of our product line. You will help develop new concepts, parts, assemblies, and / or implement engineering change requests as required to produce detailed drawing for prototyping or production of parts. This position will report to the Integration Engineering Manager and will work a hybrid schedule based out of our facility in Northwest Houston area.

You’ll Make An Impact By
- Develop new designs and implement engineering changes for SolidWorks 3D parts, assemblies, and conceptual layouts.
- Create detailed 2D SolidWorks drawings for prototyping and production.
- Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts for various projects.
- Utilize PDM systems effectively to manage design files and revisions.
- Ensure designs comply with required specifications, tolerances, safety factors, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality designs.
- Ensure assigned tasks are completed on time and meet quality standards.
- Perform additional tasks as required by the Engineering Management Team.
What you'll need:
- Associate’s or Bachelors Degree in CAD & Design, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for designing parts, assemblies, sheet metal, and structural components.
- Strong experience in SolidWorks 2D drawing creation for production and prototyping.
- Intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or AutoCAD for wiring diagrams and schematics.
- 2 years of relevant experience in electrical or mechanical design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and coordinate across departments.
- Advanced knowledge of Electrical one line and electrical schematics.
- Advanced knowledge of Control Panel Design and Electronic Circuits.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point) & various pdf editing/mark up software.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects.
- Ability to develop a good understanding of industry standards, practices and procedures pertaining to engineering and design.
- Work with minimum supervision, be a self-starter, be able to meet goals and deadlines on own initiative.
- Understanding of material strengths and performance as it pertains to generator enclosures and structures.
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution and control systems design and understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
