What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate - Private Credit Originations Team position at Encina Private Credit, LLC?
We are seeking an experienced Associate to join Encina Private Credit ("Encina"), a private credit finance company based in Norwalk, Connecticut. Encina is focused on providing senior secured credit facilities to middle market private equity backed and non-sponsored companies.
The selected candidate will work as a member of the investment team consisting of originations and credit underwriting professionals to assist in the sourcing and execution of first lien senior secured loan transactions. In this position, the associate will assist the team with commercial activities and deal related duties including research, financial analysis, market analysis, CRM maintenance, reporting, and client/internal presentations.
Responsibilities
- As part of a team, assist in the preparation of client materials and prescreen memos in order to evaluate investment opportunities in the middle market leveraged finance space.
- Perform market research to assist in the development of improved originations tactics and enhanced information on key prospects. Research and share key insights on market trends and competitive dynamics.
- Update and maintain the CRM database, prepare pipeline reports, perform data analysis, and produce management reports and dashboards.
- Assist in preparation of marketing materials, internal presentations, deal tracking and special research projects.
- Accompany senior originators on business development calls and meetings. Assist with meeting prep, development of materials and follow up.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least 2 years prior work experience, preferably with foundational knowledge of finance. Should be familiar with basic financial concepts.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet timely objectives.
- Candidate must be eager to learn and possess strong initiative with an ability to take guidance, research solutions and solve problems.
- High energy, team player enthusiastic about helping build a business and delivering for customers.
- Novice to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work experience at bank, or other financial institution.
- Familiarity with commercial lending. private credit, or leveraged finance
- Desire to advance within the company into an underwriting role or originations role
- Previous exposure to CRM tools such as Salesforce.com
