Encino Acquisition Partners is seeking to hire a Senior Production Operations Engineer, to support ongoing unconventional wet and dry gas horizontal wells in the Utica Basin. The position reports to the Production Engineering Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operation of wells, optimizing wells and managing workover and field operations projects. The candidate will have limited review of work by supervisor, viewed as competent in all areas of discipline expertise, and serves as a lead or source of information to other employees. Some flexibility in title depending on selected candidates experience.
Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Production Optimization:
• Analyze and optimize production from wet and dry gas wells. This would include analysis of oil, gas, and water volumes in conjunction with pressures and temperatures to diagnosis and prescribe solutions to maximize production.
• Identify and implement solutions to improve production rates, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency
• Ability to understand and analyze lease operating expenses (LOE) to maximize operating profits
• Has an operational knowledge of artificial lift installation and operation including plunger lift, wellhead compression, gas lift, rod pump, foamer, and capillary strings
Workover Operations:
• Develop, plan, execute, and write procedures for cost-effective workovers and well interventions to include wellbore repairs, chemical treatments, lateral cleanouts, tubing installation/repair/replacement, while ensuring regulatory compliance
• Identify and perform economic analysis on perspective workovers while weighing the risk reward profile of the operation to provide management a recommendation on project viability
• Collaborate with field teams to monitor workover progress and resolve operational challenges
Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities
• Prepare detailed reports on production metrics, workover outcomes, and project performance
• Develop projects to collect an analyze data for monitoring failure rates, equipment reliability, and chemical treatment effectiveness to maximize well performance and operating efficiency
Equipment and System Management:
• Ensure the integrity and functionality of surface and subsurface production equipment
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to address equipment failures and optimize system performance
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure all operations comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures and risk management plans.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with reservoir engineers, completions engineers, and field personnel to execute new optimization techniques and projects
• Provide technical support to operations and contribute to long-term production planning
Qualifications
· Proven track record of engineering leadership and ability to identify opportunities to improve operations in terms of safety, integrity, and reliability
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to make technical and economic recommendations
· IWCF or IADC Well Control Certification (preferred)
· Demonstrate ability to run economic analysis in support of well optimization projects, ongoing operational activities, and other business considerations
· Working knowledge of well optimization techniques, including workovers, recompletions, and technology of artificial lift methods including gas-lift, plunger lift, and combination there of
· Prior experience in production/completions operations and surface facility design, operation, and maintenance
· Strong mechanical aptitude with good working knowledge of all oil and gas operations
· Proficiency or working knowledge of industry standard software tools and packages:
- ARIES, WellView, Spotfire, CygNet, MS Office suite, OFM, OVS, Snap, Whitson, IHS Harmony, Ambyint, TAM (Echometer), and Carte
· Technical proficiency in performing nodal analysis, gas lift design, wellbore hydraulics, Echometer interpretation
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with small multi-disciplinary team settings
· Strong track record of leadership, initiative, and project management with effective written and verbal communication skills
· Strengths in developing and mentoring staff and working collaboratively with an asset team
· Advanced technical and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to coordinate multiple initiatives and supervise diverse teams in support of large-scale operations
· Conducts themselves and the operation with stringent safety, environmental and regulatory practices
Education
Bachelor’s degree in petroleum, mechanical, or chemical engineering required, professional registration preferred
5 years of oil and gas related experience. Preferably in upstream oil and gas production operations with an emphasis on wet and dry gas horizontal unconventional wells

Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel anticipated for this position is 5% - 10% including overnight extended stays. Field travel to Houston required about once per quarter 3-5 days.
Work Environment
This job is predominately remote with the expectation of onsite visits 2-3 days per week and some weekly field office visits to collaborate with other operations personnel.
Work Schedule and Travel:
This is a full- time position and typical work hours are Monday- Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position is predominately remote and will require 30-40% travel/ commute to field locations within the operation. Additional quarterly week-long trips to the Houston office will be expected.
