Overview
We are looking for a Caring , Happy dental assistant who likes to laugh, smile and is efficient, team player, well-organized with attention to detail and can provide excellent customer service, cross trained would be an exceptional addition to our private practice. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Duties
- Chairside Assistance: Assist dentists during dental procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring efficient patient care.
- Patient Care: Comfort and reassure patients, addressing any concerns or questions they may have before, during, and after procedures.
- Instrument Preparation: Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- X-Ray Imaging: Take dental radiographs, ensuring high-quality images and adherence to safety protocols.
- Dental Impressions/scans: Assist with taking dental impressions for crowns, bridges, and other restorative procedures.
- Charting and Documentation: Accurately record patient information, treatment plans, and procedures in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, post-operative care instructions, and preventive dental care practices.
- Lab Work: Assist with laboratory tasks, including pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and maintaining lab supplies inventory.
- Assist with Administrative Tasks: Provide support with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and processing patient billing and insurance claims.
- Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and sanitary clinical environment.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in dental assisting through ongoing training and professional development.
Skills
- Familiarity with dental terminology.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to treatment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills necessary for maintaining patient records and treatment plans.
- Spanish speaker is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience with dentrix is desirable.
- Itero scanning and proficiency with invisalign treatment is desirable.
- Desire to work with kids/experience is strongly preferred.
