Business Analyst
Location: Saint Paul, MN
Job Description:
Client is seeking a senior Business Analyst with a minimum 8-10 years of experience. Preferred experience with transit fare-collection processes and software such as Cubic. Experience with Azure, DevOps and/or GitHub, word processing, complex spreadsheets, graphics presentations and database management (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint). The candidate must have ITIL and IIBA certifications.
Responsibilities:
- Meet regularly with business partners to document current technology needs, gaps, and issues, and help strategize plans for future changes to technology.
- Analyze business processes and perform business process mapping unit to support or facilitate changes in how technology is utilized.
- Assist with technology strategic planning and ensure alignment with department, divisional, and Council-wide strategic plans.
- Contribute to IS Service delivery, ensuring all systems and interfaces are documented.
- Perform functional and non-functional requirement elicitation activities for projects and initiatives, developing standardized use cases and user stories which can be utilized by implementation teams.
- Analyze business processes and procedures to recommend best practices for improving business processes through information systems.
- Analyze various business processes within a unit to facilitate change to leverage use of computer system capability.
- Write training documentation, create, and provide live end user training.
- Analyze new or proposed IT services.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Develop and act upon change management plans.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a Business Analyst position.
- ITIL 4 Certified.
- IIBA Certified (CBAP).
- Preferred experience with transit fare-collection processes and software such as Cubic.
- Experience with Azure, DevOps and/or GitHub, word processing, complex spreadsheets, graphics presentations and database management (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
- Ability to write training documentation, create, and provide live end user training.
- Experience providing analysis for IT Operations, Infrastructure, and/or Application Development.
- Should have the ability to develop and act upon change management plans.
- Experience working with and for public sector organizations.
- Skills and experience with use of business process mapping techniques and templates.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $50.00 - $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
