Position Summary:
The Interior Installation Technician II works under general supervision to remove, install, and fabricate aircraft interiors, including trim, carpet, soundproofing, light structures, cabinetry, panels, and other accessories. All work must adhere to company design specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two (2) years of experience in application installation, fabrication, or related fields.
- Aerospace industry experience preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely remove, install, and fabricate aircraft interior components, such as galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, and panels.
- Coordinate with supervision and inspection teams to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, FAA regulations, and internal documentation.
- Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demands, track issues, and sign off on completed work.
- Follow standard operating procedures when using hand tools, band saws, shears, sanders, and brakes; maintain tools and shop equipment.
- Prepare and install interior components according to operational procedures and quality standards.
- Remove and reinstall nut plates, inserts, and other fasteners used in aircraft interiors; ensure proper use of hardware and fittings.
- Comply with safety protocols, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use required personal protective equipment and address unsafe conditions proactively.
- Assist technicians under supervision with aircraft maintenance tasks.
- Adapt to sudden schedule changes.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with lead and senior technicians to develop and implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Create and use simple patterns following standardized procedures.
- Support aircraft certification and final-phase testing, including flight tests if required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
- Experience using hand and power tools for interior installation and removal.
- Physically capable of climbing ladders and stairs, working in confined spaces, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working any assigned shift.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $23.31 - $33.81 per hour
