Job Overview:

We seek a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacists in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services. This role involves medication preparation, inventory management, patient assistance, and compliance with safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:Pharmacy Operations Support:
- Assist pharmacists in medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing.
- Retrieve and interpret medication orders, ensuring accuracy in processing.
- Maintain pharmacy equipment, perform inventory checks, and stock medications.
- Conduct sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling as per regulations.
- Manage automated pharmacy dispensing systems and medication adjudication.
Patient & Provider Support:
- Answer patient inquiries and coordinate prescription refills.
- Handle insurance claims and resolve billing rejections.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding prescriptions.
- Provide customer service at the pharmacy window and waiting area.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, pharmacy regulations, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logs for controlled substances and medication storage.
- Perform routine pharmacy inspections, including crash carts and IV rooms.
- Monitor and document medication storage conditions, including refrigeration.
Minimum Qualifications:Education & Certifications:
- Valid Pharmacy Technician License in the State of Alaska.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or equivalent).
- Clinical Competency and High-Risk Competency (must be completed within 3 months of hire).
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in hospital, ambulatory clinic, or retail pharmacy.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in sterile compounding and hazardous drug handling.
- Strong skills in pharmacy billing and adjudication.
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $66,000 - $79,000 per year.
