Position: Inventory Specialist

Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price (FFP)

Performance Period: 6-month base period with a 6-month option
Role: Non-Clinical and Program Support for Inventory Management
Job Summary:
The Inventory Specialist will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) operations. This role involves ensuring the efficient and accurate handling, storage, and distribution of inventory while maintaining records of supplies and tracking inventory levels. The position is critical to the successful operations of Chelmsford CMOP, which processes approximately 245,000 prescriptions weekly.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inventory control and ensure adequate levels of stock are maintained.
- Perform daily audits to verify inventory accuracy.
- Record and maintain inventory data in computerized systems.
- Utilize automated and manual methods for processing prescriptions and supplies.
- Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to optimize inventory flow.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations for inventory adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with all VA guidelines and protocols.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma (HS) or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in inventory management.
- Skills:
- Basic mathematical ability for calculations and inventory adjustments.
- Proficiency in typing and basic PC computer skills.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen to meet federal employment requirements.
Work Hours:
- Normal Operating Hours: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (local time).
