Position Responsibilities :
- Providing assurance of the Field Operations QMS and its related processes through active engagement with other functions supporting aircraft maintenance activities.
- Performs setup for specialized non-destructive Eddy current testing (ECT), and Mobile Automated Scanner System (MAUS) inspections utilizing test or measurement equipment to controlled standards.
- Performance of audits referenced by 4790.2 Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) aviation maintenance programs.
- Supporting colleagues within other functions with development of processes / procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to Pols / Pros.
- Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA).
- Supporting Safety / Quality investigations (as directed by Lead / Manager).
- Non-Conformance Management and inputting data into software tools.
- Active participation within Continuous Improvement / Lean initiatives.
- Assist with metrics development supporting the wider Field Operations QMS.
- Attend required meetings and present associated metrics for review.
- Assists in the documentation of procedures for setting up test equipment.
- Analyzes routine test, inspection or statistical data to determine product and processes conformity Assists with standard corrective action recommendations.
- Documents and communicates standard test, analysis or measurement results.
- Reports potential adverse trends or anomalous results. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :
- Certified NAS 410 Mobile Automated Scanner System (MAUS).
- Certified NAS 410 Eddy current testing (ECT).
- 5 years of experience with NDT Quality Testing.
- 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- An understanding and previous experience of AS9100 Quality Assurance Management system.
- Capable of traveling on an as needed basis (up to 25% of the time).
- Ability to work variable shifts (i.e. scheduled and unscheduled overtime; weekends and holidays) to support mission requirements and workload. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :
- An AA degree in related NDT discipline and typically 5 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- experience in aircraft heavy maintenance.
- 5 years’ experience maintaining F / A-18E / F, Aircraft Logs, and Records Books IAW 4790.2.
- 5 years’ experience with COMNAVAIRINST 4790.2 Series quality assurance programs such as FOD and Tool Control.
- 5 years of experience working with composites and non-porous metals, such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless.
- 5 years of experience working with schematics, specifications, engineering drawings and standard operating procedures.
- 5 years of experience using structures hand tools such as : drills 45 and 90 degrees, pancake adapters, counter sink cages, hole finders, and rivet guns.
- 5 years of experience working heavy structures : locating, drilling, countersinking and fastening structures (i.e. doublers, stringers, webs, seat tracks, etc.) to aircraft. Typical Education / Experience :
Level 3 : Education / experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).
