Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver/Personal Assistant to join our team. As a Personal Assistant, you will provide exceptional support to our clients, focusing on their overall well-being and quality of life. Your role will involve working closely with individuals who require assistance with daily tasks, and your primary responsibility will be to ensure their safety, comfort, and happiness.
This position requires full hands on support with toileting and other hygiene cares. The schedule for this position will be 1 or 2 days afterschool plus some occasional Saturdays.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily routines, meal preparation, and medication management
- Assist with patient monitoring and observation, reporting any changes in health or behavior to our healthcare team
- Offer support with dementia care and other developmental disabilities, providing a nurturing and safe environment for clients
- Perform light housekeeping duties and assist with laundry and cleaning tasks
- Prepare and cook meals according to clients' dietary needs and preferences
- Engage in social work and provide emotional support to clients and their families
- Maintain a safe and healthy living environment, adhering to our home care policies and guidelines
- Develop and implement personalized care plans, in collaboration with our healthcare team
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to our organization's policies and procedures
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving, patient observation, or home health care is highly desirable
- Proven ability to work with individuals with dementia care and other developmental disabilities
- Experience in cooking and meal preparation for clients with dietary restrictions
- Familiarity with patient monitoring and dementia care is essential
- Social work experience is beneficial, but not necessary
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse range of clients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
