Position Purpose
The Senior Learning and Development Specialist manages the creation, curation, and continuous improvement of learning and development content based on the company's vision and strategy. This role focuses on designing and delivering leadership and development programs for team leads, supervisors/managers, and hospital directors. Responsibilities include end-to-end needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of multiple programs. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design and is strategic and innovative in delivering programs that equip our leaders to develop teams and deliver inpatient rehabilitation care, enabling our patients to achieve life-changing results.

Core Responsibilities and Initiatives:
- Learning Content Creation: Partner with the L&D and Talent Management Teams to create engaging content, utilizing various instructional design methodologies to develop training materials that align with organizational goals and enhance employee development.
- Training Events Facilitation: Facilitate OD-hosted training events and team-building activities, coordinate with trainers and participants for successful execution, and evaluate training effectiveness to recommend improvements.
- Leadership Preceptor Program: Development and delivery of Leadership Preceptor Training.
- Summer Internship Program: Manage recruitment, onboarding, program delivery and evaluation.
- Leadership Orientation: Program Development and Administration, Facilitation of events, communication with stakeholders, and program evaluation.
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Drive projects to implementation, evaluation, and sustainability on time and within budget.
- Accomplish goals with quality and quantity work in a timely manner.
- Build networks/partnerships, influence stakeholders, and demonstrate emotional intelligence.
- Collaborate to integrate, coordinate, communicate, and implement plans that meet business needs.
- Understand, explain, and continuously build knowledge of Organizational Development (OD).
- Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to work as needed.
- Report the measured results of initiatives.
- This is an onsite position here in Birmingham, AL
Qualifications
License or Certification:
- CPLP, PMP, and/or SPHR preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in HR, I/O Psychology, Instructional Design, or other field; Master's preferred
- At least 3 years of learning program/project management
- Experience in healthcare preferred
