Position Summary:
Encompass is seeking a driven, collaborative, results-oriented Development, Fundraising and Grants Manager with exceptional project management, grant writing, and process improvement skills who is eager to support our mission to advance health equity across Santa Cruz County. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this position will play an integral role in driving strategic development and fundraising efforts to raise awareness of and financial support for our organization and its nearly 40 safety-net programs. These programs support family & social well-being, early childhood education, behavioral health, housing and more.
The ideal candidate will possess a hybrid of development, grant coordination and fundraising experience, an inquisitive nature, and a strong track record of collaborating with multiple stakeholders to meet mutually agreed upon goals. Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually.
Key Responsibilities:
- In partnership with agency leaders, set agency fundraising strategy and proactively seek out and pursue County, State, Federal and private funding opportunities to meet agency needs. This includes coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to lead or participate in varying levels of grant research, grant writing, public relations, community engagement and donor outreach, as needed, depending on the funding source.
- Create comprehensive fundraising plans, including campaign goals, timelines, tactics, and budget allocations.
- Oversee agency processes for researching, coordinating, applying for, implementing, and meeting reporting requirements for a variety of funding types; this includes identifying opportunities for improvement, creating action plans, and driving agency wide change.
- Direct the production of annual fundraising events, appeals and reports; oversee agency donor engagement and recognition processes; and manage agency donor database.
- Assist agency leadership with major donor relations and maintain working knowledge of agency priorities that may match donors' areas of interest.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of professional work experience in development, fundraising, grant coordination or related fields
- Strategic thinker and problem solver who takes initiative to identify opportunities for improvement, proposes solutions and implements change
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks efficiently, and meet competing deadlines
- Experience in overseeing or assisting with grant applications
- Self-motivated, impeccable follow through
- Nimble, multitasks with ease
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of development experience in the nonprofit sector
- Public speaking skills for delivering compelling presentations to potential donors and stakeholders
- Design skills for creating visually appealing marketing and donor materials or presentations
- Experience with fundraising analytics, including tracking and interpreting data to optimize fundraising strategies.
