Position Summary
Encompass is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week) Grant Writer & Coordinator who shares our excitement for and commitment to serving our community. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer as part of the Encompass Operations Division, which develops and maintains the systems that support agency operations. The Operations Division closely collaborates with leaders across the agency to lead agency-wide strategic planning efforts, identify areas of continuous quality improvement, and pursue new program development and funding opportunities.
This position will play an integral role in raising financial support for our organization by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to write compelling and competitive grant narratives for funding opportunities. The qualified candidate is highly organized, a quick learner, curious, and excels at working with diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate has exceptional grant writing skills and a strong track record of collaborative and efficient grant coordination. Pay Range:
$35-$40/hour.
Key Responsibilities
• Research, prepare, and submit grant proposals and supportive documents for funding. In partnership with agency leaders, coordinate the collection of information and documentation needed to write compelling and competitive grant narratives, including developing budget proposals.
• Understand all requirements and deadlines for grant applications.
• Monitor the grant application process and applicable grant application deadlines.
• Communicate with potential funders, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
• 2 years of professional work experience in grant writing and coordination or related fields
• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, creative writing or a related area
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks efficiently, and meet competing deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications
• 2 years of grant writing and grant management experience in the nonprofit sector
• Master’s degree in English, communications, or a related area
Wages & Benefits
Our total compensation package includes a comprehensive medical and dental insurance plan for full time employees, 403(b) retirement plan, paid holiday, sick time, and 17 days of paid vacation, pro-rated for positions less than 40 hours a week.
