JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills to assist managers and candidates through the pre-hire process. The HR Representative will be supporting recruitment and hiring and implement program’s hiring procedures to ensure the program is fully staffed. Position is responsible for completing and maintaining assigned hiring tasks/procedure in accordance with Agency’s policy, Federal and State laws and head Start Performance Standard. Position will be very comfortable with technology and systems which you will use to conduct credential verifications, create and store electronic records, and generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Other responsibilities or support include workers compensation, safety, research, and onboarding. As the HR Representative, you will be a highly confidential individual who will demonstrate problem-solving abilities and the flexibility to adjust or prioritize daily responsibilities. Position is temporary. Work schedule is 30 hours per week Monday-Friday; may require occasional weekend, evening work. Salary range is $23-$25 per hour. Pay differential for bilingual skills awarded upon qualification. Position based out of Watsonville office, in-person.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure compliance in hiring process and documentation for new employees
• Work Closely with program Hiring Managers through the Agency’s hiring processes
• Primary contact for employee satisfaction communications and endeavors
• Track and communicate timeline and projected completion of hiring process
• Collaborate with Hiring Managers to keep the hiring process moving forward
• Research upcoming job/career fair/events opportunities; represent program by attending the most appropriate events to support recruiting efforts
• Prepare and post job opportunities
• Communicate with internal and external candidates
• Responsible for applicant tracking and maintaining all pertinent applicant data in the HRIS Job Requisitions
• Conduct background checks and other pre-employment requirements
• Collect and store necessary information for yearly audits
• Collect personnel paperwork, create of program files, and maintain onsite personnel records
• Use online systems to monitor credentials and licensing
• Workers Compensation point of contact for claims processing, monitoring, and reporting
• Back up for leave of absence administration
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual credential and licensing reports
• Perform administrative and clerical duties necessary to the position
• Support Senior HR Representative with recruiting tasks, as needed
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• Minimum HS Diploma or GED
• 1 year of experience in human resources (area of hiring is strongly preferred)
• Strong computer literacy required (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred)
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations and conduct business in professional manner
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Criminal Record Clearance, Physical examination, TB
• Provide own transportation; Valid Driver’s License, vehicle insurance and good driving record
• Proof of citizenship or right to work in the United States
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
• 2 years’ experience in office administration
• Previous experience using HR systems (ADP and learning management)
• Data management, reporting, and analysis
• Resourceful and results-oriented
• Strong sense of initiative
