Encompass Community Supports, formerly known as Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services (RRCS) is hiring a Recovery Program Supervisor at the S.E.E. Recovery Center.

At Encompass Community Supports, our full-time employees work 37.5 hours weekly.
Encompass Community Supports is an approved site for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program.
Our Recovery Program Supervisor plans, organizes, and supervises the daily operation of the certified/registered peer recovery specialists or the peer support staff working towards certification. This includes oversight of both those in the Community-Based Recovery program and those supporting the daily operations of the S.E.E. Recovery Center. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Director of Treatment and Recovery. Supervision is exercised over program personnel.
SOME OF THE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day operations of community-based peer services and a peer-run drop-in center.
- Hold regular supervision, motivate, develop, and support staff to deliver program services and meet performance expectations.
- Serve as a liaison and point of contact between the Peer Recovery Specialists and community partners that offer recovery-oriented groups to the community at the S.E.E. Center.
- Ensure a strengths-based, recovery-oriented, person-centered culture of service provision is provided, offering multiple pathways of recovery giving the individual choice and empowerment.
- Manage the monthly group calendar as well as staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for the program’s needs.
- Hold regular supervision, motivate, develop, and support staff to deliver program services and meet performance expectations.
- Coordinate the assignment of Community-Based enrollments to Peer Recovery staff based on participants’ recovery needs and staff availability.
- Using cultural competency and inclusive wellness practices; completed in conjunction with Executive Assistant and program leadership when necessary.
- Review all documentation in EHR (electronic health records) to ensure timely and accurate documentation, as well as thorough data collection pertaining to Community-Based Recovery enrollments and services such as RRWP’s (Recovery and Resilience Wellness Plans).
- Assist staff as needed in communication across behavioral health continuum of care and with participant's treatment team, including Case Managers, Nurses, Clinicians and Primary Care Doctors.
- Coordinate staff (peer specialists and support coordinators), volunteers, and other supports needed to maintain consistent operations of the S.E.E. Recovery Center with Recovery Programs Manager and Director of Treatment and Recovery, as well as On-Call Clinical Supervisor.
- Maintain a roster of all enrolled participants and in staff's absence, cover recovery groups or meet with participants 1:1 to offer support.
- Oversee and ensure program and agency standards are met; compliance items and training are completed within deadlines, and report section operations to the Peer Recovery Services Director.
- Ability to meet in-person with staff, management team, and agency leadership at various worksites on a regular basis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- All knowledge, skills, and abilities performed in a manner aligning with the principles of recovery-oriented, person-centered, non-coercive, trauma-informed, and relationship-focused services.
- Current body of mental health and substance use disorder knowledge.
- Recovery process, Wellness Planning, Stages of Change, and Harm Reduction principles as well as Crisis Intervention techniques.
- Core Values and Scope of Practice for the role of Certified and Registered Peer Recovery Specialists in Virginia.
- Acknowledge “voice and choice” of participants in choosing their pathway of recovery support.
- Cultural sensitivity and diversity/equity/inclusion.
- Trauma and its impact on recovery.
- Knowledge of community resources and CSB (community services board) system.
- Knowledge of link between prevention and recovery.
- Ability to provide professional supervision to Recovery program staff.
- Ability to listen and support staff and participants on sensitive problems.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective professional boundaries and working relationships with Recovery personnel, program attendees, their families, and other professionals, individually and in groups.
- Knowledge of other video-conferencing software and applications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Program development experience and familiarity with Recovery and Peer Support is essential.
- Must have at least one of the following credentials currently: CPRS (Certified Peer Recovery Specialist), QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional), or CSAC (Certified Substance Abuse Counselor).
- Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
- Employment with Encompass Community Supports is contingent upon the successful completion of our background check process (criminal, DMV, education, drug screening, reference check, DSS, OIG and SAM).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services field.
- Lived experience and/or experience working alongside persons with lived experience.
- Ability to be a champion for the Recovery Workforce; APPR (Action Planning for Prevention and Recovery) facilitator, REVIVE lay rescuer trainer, certified SMART (Self-Management and Recovery Training) Recovery facilitator, and/or DBHDS Peer Recovery Specialist Supervisor Training.
