Encompass Community Supports, formerly known as Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services (RRCS) is hiring a RN – Behavioral Health to work primarily at the Fauquier Outpatient Clinic with the flexibility to provide coverage at alternative clinic sites as needed.

At Encompass Community Supports, our full-time employees work 37.5 hours weekly.
Our Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health provides care, counseling, education and consultation to clients, and work is performed under regular supervision.
SOME OF THE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluates all medication refill requests from client and/or pharmacies. Reviews each client chart for recent physician orders, case management/therapy notes for client safety status, and medication record for accuracy/timeliness of requested medication. Orders medication refills based off the providers standing order and/or prepares samples of medication, Community Resource Pharmacy medication, or Patient Assistance Program medication for delivery. Documents activities.
- Assess clients prior to appointment with provider, obtain vital signs, current allergies and medication list.
- Administers injections of medications per the physician’s order, in accordance with sterile technique. Monitors and documents side effects of medication and perform AIMS exam as necessary.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the medication room/Alternate Delivery Site under the guidelines and regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Pharmacy. Assures safety, security, and integrity of all medications maintained.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients and co-workers. Provides medication education to clients, including information on side effects and other related concerns. Assesses clients for SI/HI and follows through in accordance with agency guidelines as needed.
- Completes prior authorization for medication to insurance companies.
- Attends training and maintains certifications as required by the Agency and regulatory guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, standards, practices and techniques of professional nursing.
- Thorough knowledge of the dangers inherent in and the precautions to be taken in the use of narcotics and other medications.
- Thorough knowledge of the treatment, diagnostic, immunization and related medical services for clients.
- Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures and policies pertaining to nursing services of the agency.
- Ability to accurately maintain patient medical records and prepare reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, physicians and associates.
- Knowledge of MS Office, to include Word and Excel.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree in nursing.
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse allowed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- At least 3 years of experience in nursing, substance disorders, and/or mental health are required.
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License.
- Employment with Encompass Community Supports is contingent upon the successful completion of our background check process (criminal, DMV, education, drug screening, reference check, DSS, OIG and SAM).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This work requires light physical effort working almost exclusively with lightweight materials (up to 25 pounds).
