Location: Culpeper, VA
Encompass Community Supports, formerly known as Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services (RRCS) is hiring a Support Coordinator I- Crisis Services (FT) to work in our Culpeper office.

At Encompass Community Supports, our full-time employees work 37.5 hours weekly.
Encompass Community Supports is an approved site for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program.
Our Support Coordinator I- Crisis Services Assesses clients’ needs and provides access to needed and appropriate services including treatment, rehabilitation and service linkage, and case monitoring and client advocacy functions. Work is performed under regular supervision.
SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates involuntary and voluntary admissions to inpatient psychiatric facilities, crisis stabilization units, and substance abuse detox and residential programs.
- Assists certified preadmission screening clinicians (CPSC) with cases to provide more time for CPSC to focus on direct work with clients.
- Provides access services to the agency; serves as agency “gatekeeper” to services by screening initial telephone calls and walk-in requests; makes referrals as appropriate.
- Triages emergency and crisis mental health and substance abuse services requests.
- Engages in follow up contact with consumers post-crisis to check individual’s status and compliance with treatment recommendations; coordinates further emergency, crisis intervention or other agency or community services if indicated.
- Obtains emergency custody orders (ECOs) and temporary detention orders (TDOs) and other orders, as needed.
- Develops and maintains administrative and clinical files, reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence.
- Participates in clinical, administrative, and supervisory meetings, collaborates with agency staff, departmental staff and stakeholders and referral sources on cases.
- Provides consultation, education, training, and prevention services to other providers. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- General knowledge of community and agency resources and programs of regional and state sources for the community service population.
- General knowledge of social casework techniques.
- Ability to solve problems within scope of responsibility.
- Ability to analyze facts and exercise sound judgment in arriving at conclusions.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates and the general public.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of confidentiality standards, professional code of ethics, and other professional manuals/standards.
- Knowledge of MS Office, to include Word and Excel.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- 3 years related clinical experience providing direct behavioral health services to adults with mental illness, intellectual disability or receiving gerontology or special education services; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Valid Virginia driver's license
