Director of Procurement
Encompass Develop, Design & Construct offers individual clients and business-to-business customers a broad suite of hospitality, gaming, and other furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) products and services across various accommodation alternatives and price ranges.
The Director of Procurement is responsible for planning, managing, overseeing, and leading the Procurement team, as well as the work assigned to the Buyers in the Procurement and Installation Department. Additionally, the Director of Procurement serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to strategic decision-making and indirectly influencing other departments to align with organizational goals. The Director is also responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of its Team and other resources within the company.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing Procurement and Expediting duties required to support Project and Installation Management, including the timely purchasing of FF&E within established budgets and Encompass standards, assuring supplier shipments, and supporting project schedules and timelines. This role must provide financial reporting of purchases and resolution of supplier-caused non-performance for all assigned projects.
This Team member will be responsible for managing and developing their Team. The Director of Procurement will also maintain relationships with current vendors and develop new vendor relationships.
Light travel – locally and across the United States – is required. The purpose of travel is to oversee the delivery and installation of FF&E.
The Director of Procurement will generally perform excellent work in an office setting. At times, the physical environment will require limited work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Encompass Strongly Prefers
· Associate degree or higher with a preferred Supply Chain Management or Business/Retail Management/Marketing-related degree.
· 4 years of experience in purchasing and installation in hospitality, gaming, or construction environments.
· Demonstrates professionalism and a positive attitude.
· Demonstrated negotiation skills with a proven track record of bringing projects in under budget and on time.
· Must be extremely flexible and able to successfully manage multiple simultaneous projects and tasks.
· Must possess good judgment and independent decision-making abilities.
· Strong numerical/analytical skills are critical.
· Proven ability to develop, monitor, and update schedules while completing projects on time.
· Solid understanding of ethical procurement practices.
· Promote excellent customer service both internally and externally.
· Possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft applications (especially Excel).
Director of Procurement Will
· Provide oversight of the FF&E Procurement services required for the projects.
· Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organizational strategy and decision-making while indirectly leading and influencing others across the organization.
· Ensure that Procurement budgets are established, tracked, updated, and communicated to the entire Procurement Team.
· Ensure that Procurement schedules are established, reviewed, and updated.
· Ensure Procurement schedules align with the overall project schedule.
· Act as a liaison with Procurement, Project Management, and Field Teams.
· Provide oversight and direction to the Team Members in the department in accordance with Encompass' policies and procedures.
· Coach, mentor, and develop Procurement Specialists working with the Director on the project.
· Empower Procurement Specialists to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
· Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization and that emphasizes the identified mission and servant leadership culture.
· Lead Procurement Specialists to meet the organization's expectations for excellence in productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
· Use independent judgment when appropriate.
· Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate Encompass information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email, IM, and regular interpersonal communication.
· Perform cost estimating along with monthly updates and projections to the FF&E Budget.
· Enter and expedite purchase orders; obtain order acknowledgments to ensure the accuracy of orders and invoicing and take initiative in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
· Track and report on procurement and expediting, ensuring complete and timely delivery of the FF&E via the Procurement schedule.
· Assist with site logistics for FF&E in coordination with the Project Team. Maintain appropriate progress reports, status/tracking, budgets, change orders, and contractor agenda. Track reports with field schedules/integration, including communication/meetings with internal and external sources.
· Act as liaison between suppliers and the Project Team, following all processes and procedures while maintaining standards.
· Complete analysis of buying trends, market conditions, budgets, materials, policies, suppliers, contracts, bid proposals, and vendor agreements.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
