What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Field Data Technician position at Encompass Energy Services?
Work Group
- Field/Office Staff
Standard Knowledge:
- Understanding of Public Land Survey System and its applications in Surveying.
- Survey Computations in the field.
- Ability to perform Basic Survey Computations using AutoCAD and online software.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
Office Work:
- Daily processing of field data (other crews & your own) using in-house and on-line survey software.
- Review Field Notes, JSA’s, and other information from Crews.
- Daily upload processed data into working Drawings.
- Daily progress emails to project teams.
- Ability to perform research for Deeds, LCRC, Plats, etc. online or if needed in person.
- Survey Computations using AutoCAD-Civil 3D and online software.
- Order/Call in One-CALL Requests using State Diggers Hotline.
Field Work:
- Local Travel is expected daily, with jobs ideally not exceeding two hours from the Traverse City Office, or your remote work location.
- Out of town work is expected at least Monthly and could be more as seasonal weather dictates.
- Office work and responsibilities will not cease when working out of town.
- Will typically function as a One-Person Survey Crew.
Work Schedule:
- Out of town work:
- Standard Work week = 6 – 10 Hour days.
- Local work:
- Standard Work Week = 5 – 10 Hour days.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience in Surveying or related field or
- 2 year degree in surveying or related field and 4 years of experience in surveying.
- Valid Driver’s License
- No past convictions that would conflict with Surveyors right to Trespass.
