Job Summary
Floor Care Technician
Nature of Work :
The Floor Care Technician contributes to the effective operations of the Encompass Cleaning Systems Environmental Services department. Responsibilities include maintaining hard surface and carpeted floors in various areas such as offices, classrooms, corridors, lobbies, stairwells, and public spaces. Tasks involve stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, and bonneting, along with light maintenance duties like changing light bulbs as assigned by the supervisor.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate specialized power equipment safely.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks on equipment.
- Conduct routine mopping, buffing, and burnishing of hard floors.
- Vacuum, shampoo, bonnet, and extract carpets and upholstery.
- Perform wall cleaning, dusting, and routine office / classroom cleaning.
- Move furniture to facilitate floor cleaning.
- Maintain and organize cleaning equipment and utility closets.
- Handle and comply with regulations for cleaning solvents and chemicals.
- Plan work schedules for major tasks and wet mop floors daily.
- Report necessary repairs to the supervisor.
- Strip and recoat floor areas as needed.
