The Safety Officer position will maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The Safety Officer will patrol the campus, ensure that all safety protocols are followed and maintain order on the campus. This position will also assist other departments in enforcing policy and procedure within buildings, as needed.

Job Responsibilities :

• Promote a safe and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors.
• Manage building access by monitoring entrances and exits and supporting reception.
• Disrupt altercations and mitigate conflict by utilizing de-escalation techniques.
• Assist staff with crisis and emergency
• Patrol and monitor assigned areas of the grounds and parking lots to deter, detect, report and stop violations of the law and / or organization policies.
• Investigate and report, when necessary, unauthorized or suspicious persons, vehicles, or activities on the campus.
• Supervise and provide crowd control during special events on
• Maintain security records, logs, and incident reports.
• Notify organization leadership, police, fire department, or other appropriate authorities of any emergencies or potential threats.
• Address critical situations through collaboration with staff, leadership, and other stakeholders (e.g., parents, partnering organizations, law enforcement, etc.).
• Foster meaningful connections with students and families by supporting program operations for a security prospective.
• Support Human Resources with staff conflict, when appropriate.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while consistently upholding a professional demeanor.
• Perform other related duties assigned by supervisor.
