TITLE:            Classroom Substitute

• Fulfill your passion for working with children with diverse needs
• Work with a team of creative educators along with speech, occupational, and behavioral therapists who collaborate to support every child’s need
• Be a part of an early learning program that supports over 100 kids in Snoqualmie Valley every year to be fully prepared for kindergarten and beyond
• The Encompass Early Learning Center (North Bend) operates on a traditional school year schedule (with holidays and summer breaks). Children attend class Monday through Thursday.

SCHEDULE:   Multiple positions available 2040 hours per week

SALARY:        $17.59 – 23.42 per hour, DOE; Bilingual premium possible

LOCATIONS: Encompass Early Learning Center, 1407 Boalch Avenue NW, North Bend, WA

SCOPE: The Classroom Substitute is responsible for assisting teachers and/or providing support in the classroom environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist staff with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy
• Manage children’s activities and projects as needed
• Maintain open communication with coworkers
• Maintain confidentiality
• Report any suspected abuse to supervisor
• Help maintain a safe and healthy environment; administer first aid in a timely manner when needed
• Attend inservice and staff meetings when necessary
• Keep all appropriate records such as attendance and time sheets.
• Meet all applicable licensing regulations

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Experience working with young children
• Ability to adhere to safety practices and procedures as required by state and federal laws.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records, understand written instructions and procedures, prepare and write pertinent documents, and speak clearly and understandably.
• Ability to perform the tasks and functions as required by the job including preparing and implementing ageappropriate programs and activities, providing positive reinforcement to children and dispensing assertive disciplinary practices.
• Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of people.
