Job Summary:
The Business Development Officer is responsible for developing and generating core deposits, as well as referring loans. This includes business deposits, business related deposit products, business loans, and promoting all Encore Bank products and services. The Business Development Officer generates and maintains their own portfolio and business relationships.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Expand existing business relationships by looking for cross-sell opportunities.
- Identify and establish new referral sources through branch activity, sales, and marketing efforts.
- Produce, generate, and refer new core deposits and loans in accordance with production goals and Encore Bank guidelines.
- Develop networking and calling program.
- Attend meetings with the CRA team and the market team monthly or on an as needed basis
- Assist the CRA team with reporting and tracking CRA activities and sales activity
- Work in conjunction with branch staff to develop business relationships within the market.
- Assist retail operations with opening accounts for commercial and consumer clients
- Open and manage new business accounts in portfolio.
- Execute sales process to generate increased income for business services through new deposits, deposit enhanced products, and loan referrals.
- Developing and sustaining solid relationships with company stakeholders and customers.
- Pursuing business development opportunities focused on CRA, Small Business and Consumer clients
- Analyzing customer feedback data to determine whether customers are satisfied with company products and services.
- Analyzing financial data and developing effective strategies to reduce business costs and increase revenue.
- Conducting market research to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborating with company executives to determine the most viable, cost-effective approach to pursue new business opportunities.
Type and Scope of Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory experience.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of Banking experience in financial sales and business or commercial banking.
- At least 5 years of experience in direct networking and referral experience with proven results
- At least 3 years of experience in community outreach, financial education or related roles; experience in mortgage loan origination is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Detailed and have excellent organizational skills.
Education Required for this Job:
- Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or 7 years relevant experience
Attendance Requirements:
- Daily attendance is required during normal business working hours
- In-person and/or hybrid attendance occasionally required for company, client and/or team meetings
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area and overnight travel may be expected
