Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Credit Manager at Encore Funding in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

Job Description:

Credit Managers are responsible for managing a portfolio of clients. This position is focused around developing and maintaining an ongoing relationship with our internal Account Executives and their clients. This includes addressing all day-to-day needs, understanding the client’s business, assessing credit limits by client and debtor, and monitoring client and customer performance to ensure the integrity of Encore’s portfolio.

Job Duties:

  • Review new credit applications using credit reporting agencies and company financials to determine proper credit limits for potential customers in our client’s portfolio.
  • Monitor client position and its ability to handle current book of business with respect to dollar size, customer concentrations, and other factors.
  • Closely monitor account for transactional anomalies and determine appropriate course of action to be taken to safeguard both client and Encore’s financial position.
  • Prepare and present reports to the executive team regarding the aggregate of the client base to review for any potential threats or concerns to the company.
  • Business to business collections and invoice verification as needed.
  • Facilitate escalation process for potential bad debts; ensure important legal documents are properly mailed, delivered, and filed.
  • Coordinate with outside Collections and/or Law Firms to provide information and obtain updates on troubled accounts.
  • If suspicions of fraud arise: analyze supporting documentation (invoices, timecards, purchase orders, bill of ladings, etc.) to validate client funding requests.
  • Communicate clearly and thoughtfully with upper management.
  • Lead weekly company-wide meeting regarding health of the portfolio and any client issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Account Executives and their clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field from an accredited college or university (preferred).
  • 2 years of work experience in factoring, financial services, lending, or similar business (preferred).
  • Requires an outgoing, self-aware individual who can relate to others at all levels, inside and outside the business. As situations arise, the individual must be sensitive to the interaction of the needs of the business, the clients and other employees.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) (preferred).
  • Must be conscientious, prompt, a team player, detail-oriented, friendly, able to multi-task and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
