Job Description:
The Patient Care Coordinator position involves entering patient data, patient scheduling and payment collection in an EMR system. Candidates must project a warm, enthusiastic and friendly demeanor with patient and team member interactions. Candidates should be comfortable explaining health insurance benefits, answering phones, scheduling and multitasking.
Major Job Functions:
- Greet and direct patients and visitors.
- Answer telephone and respond to inquiry or direct caller to appropriate personnel.
- Schedule appointments and enter appointment dates and time into scheduling system.
- Record when appointments have been filled or rescheduled.
- Track referral sources and conversion of referrals into appointments.
- Register new patients with the office by collecting and inputting information into system and updating existing client info as needed.
- Contact patients’ insurance company for verification of insurance benefits and to understand requirements needed for covered scans.
- Receive payments for services provided.
- Perform other miscellaneous administrative tasks as directed.
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Ability to proactively and independently handle complex scheduling to maximize MRI Technologists productivity
- Experience and comfort with utilizing a variety of computer applications including, but not limited to Email, Excel and patient scheduling system
- Ability to multitask between incoming phone calls, assisting patients in the lobby and making outgoing phone calls to insurance companies to verify insurance benefits
- Ability to maintain a calm and friendly demeanor with patients, insurance companies and co-workers
Work Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two years previous customer service, medical or general office experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
