Encore Technologies is seeking a Desktop Support Technician. This is a field service role that requires hands on support in the field. Primary focus is on ensuring that users? desktop computers, laptops, peripherals, software, and other IT equipment are functioning efficiently and effectively. The role involves the hands on diagnosing and resolving of hardware, software, and networking issues.
Responsibilities:
· Provide frontline technical support to end-users.
· Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
· Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and software updates.
· Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and assist with network-related issues.
· Assist in the deployment of new hardware and software, including system imaging and software distribution.
· Perform hardware and software upgrades, patches, and maintenance tasks.
· Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
· Document and maintain accurate records of technical issues, solutions, and user requests.
· Provide training and guidance to end-users on basic software and hardware usage.
· Maintain an organized inventory of IT equipment, software licenses, and warranties.
· Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in desktop support.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience in desktop support, technical troubleshooting, and problem-solving - at least 1 year of desktop support experience.
· Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, email clients, and common business applications.
· Basic understanding of networking principles, protocols, and configurations.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective user interaction.
· Desire and proven experience in performing hands on, field support each day.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a customer-centric approach.
· Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST), or similar, are a plus.
· Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
· This role will require occasional lifting and moving of computer equipment, bending, and crawling to access computer and peripheral equipment.
