Encore Village of Schaumburg is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our Skilled Nursing Department. Under the leadership of the Director of Nursing (DON), the ADON will supervise nursing staff, oversee clinical resident services, and ensure that care is provided in accordance with facility policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. The ADON will also be responsible for coordinating clinical care and will assume oversight of the facility in the absence of the DON, maintaining 24/7 responsibility for the quality of clinical care delivered to our residents.
This position requires an individual who is a mentor and role model for nursing staff, demonstrating professionalism, patience, tact, and courtesy when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and team members. The ADON will play a key role in maintaining high standards of care, improving quality of services, and ensuring resident satisfaction within the Skilled Nursing Department.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular rounds to monitor resident acuity, assess physical and psychosocial needs, and evaluate care activities, documentation, and discharge planning.
Perform audits of resident medical records to ensure compliance with facility policies, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.
Serve as a resource for problem-solving and crisis intervention related to residents, staff, and equipment.
Implement and monitor strategies aimed at improving service quality, nursing care delivery, and resident satisfaction.
Participate in quality assurance and improvement programs to monitor, evaluate, and enhance care delivery and resident outcomes.
Oversee clinical quality initiatives on assigned shifts, ensuring that high standards are maintained at all times.
Ensure that equipment and work areas remain clean, safe, and organized, adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures, including fire and isolation protocols.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Current RN Licensure in the State of Illinois.
Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program.
Current CPR certification.
BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in skilled nursing or a nursing home setting.
Clinical experience working with residents diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and/or memory impairments is highly preferred.
Strong clinical skills, with a comprehensive understanding of nursing theory, practice, and administration specific to skilled nursing care.
