Position Overview
The Quality Control Supervisor oversees and provides support to the Quality team, and Operations personnel in ensuring all products produced comply with applicable standards in all manufacturing facilities.
Essential Job Functions
- Establishes inspection protocols, defines sampling procedures, and determines equipment and mechanisms to be used in the testing process.
- Recommend changes in specifications of materials, parts, and products based on inspection results.
- Formulate and revise quality control policies and procedures.
- Oversee daily workflow and assignments of the quality department.
- Plan and assign work, ensure employees follow policies and procedures and issue corrective actions as needed.
- Manages the activities of the Quality Inspectors and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the inspection team.
- Help drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Participates on internal teams to reduce inspection escapes, including Defective Products Returned from Customers.
- Evaluate and manage the qualifications of inspection personnel.
- Work closely with plant management to ensure process controls are in place and adequate to meet standard requirements.
- Ability to provide supervision in a multi-shift environment. Flexibility to modify work schedule occasionally.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors or Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in business management, engineering, or an acceptable technical program.
- Previous quality experience in a manufacturing role
- Working Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and Continuous Improvement Tools is desired
- Basic leadership and management knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
