Position Overview
Encore Service Center Drivers are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of Encore’s product to our valued customers. Encores’ success is driven by industry-leading delivery times and 100% fill rate. Our drivers play an important role in our culturally driven expectations of superior customer service and satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions
- Safely transport freight over short and long distances.
- Promptly report traffic violations, accidents, and vehicle issues.
- Hook and unhook trailers / Secure freight as needed.
- Load and unload trailers and perform lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying freight.
- Maintain electric and paper records, including e-logs required under state and federal laws.
- Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Represent Encore in a professional manner.
- Deliver freight on time or communicate with customers regarding any delays.
Additional Job Functions
- The ability to work long, irregular hours and to remain focused throughout.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws that regulate the road freight transport industry.
Requirements
- High School or GED
- Pallet Jack & Liftgate
- Bobtail with Box (Day Cab)
- 5 years of prior experience
- Strong verbal communication
- Time Management and organizational skills
- Critical thinking / decision-making skills
- Electronic Logging Devices (ELD)
Other Skills/Certifications
- Applicable Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A).
- A clean driving record, as well as sound knowledge of truck maintenance.
