Job Summary:
The End of the Trail Assistant Store Manager (ASM) is responsible for helping the Store Manager in managing the store and its team members according to company policies and procedures. The assist the Store Manager with ensuring maximum sales and profitability within the store.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Have responsibility for the successful operation of the End of the Trail store.
- Be able to perform all duties and responsibilities expected of any store team member.
- Understanding and assisting in managing store budget guidelines. Including sales, inside profit, margins and cost control goals; cost control goals include payroll costs, inventory loss, damaged merchandise, bad checks, store supplies and cash shortages.
- Help Store Manager to develop and maintain a time schedule that adequately covers staffing needs to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and store cleanliness, while remaining within budget guidelines.
- Help to perform all administrative duties as needed in an accurate, complete, and timely manner, including all required reports.
- Follow all cash procedures and strictly enforce cash policies in the store.
- Manage customer relations in an efficient and courteous manner and provide maximum customer satisfaction.
- Help Store manager with overall store maintenance and all major equipment problems.
- Be responsible for adhering to all local, state and federal laws on all facets of store operation.
- Be responsible for store safety.
- Maintain compliance with the Tribal Ordinance and Food Code.
- Help Store Manager, SICC, ICC to ensure store is properly stocked with product at all times, and there are adequate store supplies.
- Help Store Manager to monitor facility gasoline inventories, daily street pricing and properly report discrepancies.
- Assist Store Manager to identify store staffing needs.
- Help provide new employee training.
- Assist Store Manager to conduct annual performance evaluations of team members.
- As necessary, counsel and/or discipline store team members, while adhering to all CTE policies and procedures.
- Attend required training sessions and conduct regular team member meetings. Openly communicate with Store Manager on important issues.
- Performs related work as required and other duties as assigned by Store Manager.
- May be assigned duties under the Chehalis Tribe Emergency Management Plan and program.
- Must work the days off of the Store Manager.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
A. Education: Prefer college degree (including Associates Degree) in related field. High School Diploma or GED with adequate experience is acceptable.
A. Experience: Minimum 3-year’s experience required in a management role, preferably in a convenience store environment.
B. Skills & Abilities:
1) Language Skills: Ability to read, write, analyze and comprehend correspondence and memos. Effective oral and written communication skills.The ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and government regulations. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.
2) Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in many units of measure, using whole numbers, common tractions, and decimals. Ability to read and explain graphs and charts.
3) Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills. Must have the capacity to integrate diverse objectives with a high level of attention to detail.
4) Interpersonal Skills: Enjoys working with people. Must be culturally sensitive and have experience working with Native Americans on personal and financial issues. Skills in discussion facilitation and problem solving.
5) Physical Demands: Frequent standing and walking. May be required to periodically lift and/or move up to 50 pounds .
6) Work Environment: The employee is expected to work with a “WE” attitude and a commitment to team participation.
