What are the responsibilities and job description for the Store Clerk position at End of the Trail Convenience Store?

Job Summary:
Supports the operation of the End of the Trail store by providing excellent customer service that meets or exceeds customers' expectations. Assists customers with merchandise service and sales. Operates POS cash register. Price and stock merchandise.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Ability to operate POS cash register system and make change with speed and accuracy. Operate a credit, check, and lotto machine. Operate other office equipment when needed.
2. Follow the work schedule as posted and observe shift operating hours at all times. Clock in/out and sign time sheet to verify hours worked.
3. Open and close store according to the established procedures outlined by the company.
4. Adhere to all tobacco/alcohol, food handlers and safety regulations.
5. Able to be courteous and professional at all times and provide excellent customer service and communicate with Customers and employees.
6. Stay familiar with the company price book, operations manual, and bulletins. Read and sign all memos.
7. Notify the store manager within 24 hours of any discrepancies in the operating results on the shift report and of cash overage or shift conditions.
8. Inform the store manager of any personnel situations or policy violations that have an adverse effect on the store’s operating performance.
9. Ring all sales and discounts.
10. Accurately post markups and markdowns, store use of merchandise, voids, and bad merchandise write-offs.
11. Adhere to professional and company policies related to dress code and hygiene.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Experience: Prefer 3 months related experience and/or training in a convenience store or similar retail environment.
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
*A food handler's card is needed*
