Endeavor is seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our Accounting Team. This position is responsible for the entire monthly and quarterly close process for a portfolio of commercial and mixed-use properties. Responsibilities include overseeing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
This exempt position is required to partner with all levels/departments within the organization so excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are a must. The selected individual must work well with others and be dependable, organized, and detail oriented. Salary will be based on experience.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensures all expenses, receipts, owner's distributions, funding requests and other transactions for the accounting period are accurately posted with sufficient documentation.
- Prepare and review bank reconciliations. Research and resolve aged transactions in a timely manner.
- Post monthly commercial billings to tenant ledgers, including base rent, CAM, and tenant bill backs.
- Calculate monthly management fees, ensuring compliance with the management agreement.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all postings.
- Generates accurate financial reporting packages, ensuring timely delivery to the client, lender, and other management teams.
- Produces workpapers to accompany financial reporting packages, ensuring the information presented is clear and up to date.
- Analyzes and reconciles all balance sheet accounts monthly, researching and resolving aged transactions.
- Prepares debt reporting and debt-service coverage ratio calculations for debt covenants, as needed.
- Cash management, including preparing and analyzing cash analyses.
- Ensures timely payments of property taxes, debt obligations, and other liabilities.
- Assists property managers with the preparation of annual operating budgets and reconciliations.
- Lease administration for all tenants within assigned portfolio of properties.
- Assists with annual audits working directly with auditors. Responsible for providing PBC support and other information as requested by the auditors.
- Oversee annual tax return preparation, working directly with the tax preparers. Responsible for providing relevant financial information, review, and approval of annual tax returns and investor K-1s.
- Coordinates with Analysts and Investor Relations teams to facilitate investor capital calls and distributions.
- Responsible for ensuring consistency across accounting and investor facing platforms.
- Generate and post complex journal entries related to acquisitions, dispositions, loan closings, etc.
- Address management and client inquiries regarding accounting matters.
- Assists with special projects and other related duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field from a four-year college or university.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a senior accountant in real estate
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Accounting software experience – Yardi, MRI and Juniper Square highly beneficial
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and navigate multiple projects with competing deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail.
