JOB PURPOSE:
The main goal of this position is to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas. The individual in this role completes their tasks independently with minimal supervision. They communicate effectively with clients, customers, and shelter staff, promptly responding to requests. They ensure that the shelter's cleaning services consistently meet high standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate safe work habits and observe all applicable worker safety practices, including the use of required personal protective equipment.
- Perform janitorial duties as necessary to meet client/contract requirements.
- Operate motorized equipment used for cleaning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shelter Manager that pertain to the job duties.
- Maintain a variety of records as required, such as inventory, checklists and cleaning inspections
- Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 4 months to 1 year of experience as a custodian
ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.
LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.
VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
