JOB PURPOSE:
Ensure delivery of services to aide in the prevention of homelessness by developing community outreach efforts, building awareness of the program and providing oversight of eligibility screening.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Conduct outreach and networking activities in the community. Provide presentations at various community groups within the greater metropolitan and surrounding area. Promote the success and reputation of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families program.
* Meet regularly with Outreach and Intake Specialists to review workloads, keep them abreast of current issues, informed of program information and visit with them locally and at remote offices to ensure client needs are met.
* Conduct initial eligibility screening of Veteran's seeking program assistance. Provide general information and community referrals to Veteran's not meeting program eligibility requirements.
* Develop and maintain a pro-active community outreach plan. Identify new opportunities to promote the SSVF program
* Collaborate with Lead Case Manager to ensure prompt case management and smooth resolution to problems and concerns. Provide on-going program evaluation and recommendations to the Program Director for continuous growth and quality.
* Document eligibility screening; set up initial client file. Prepare reports as requested by Lead Outreach and Intake Specialist or Program Manager.
* Demonstrate Exceptional customer service, in Everything you do, by placing the child, family, Veteran or client first to support our mission to "Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities."
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: HS Diploma. BA in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Communications or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 1 years supervisory experience in social service environment preferred. 1 years in a customer service focused environment. Experience with homeless, low income, veterans & their families a strong plus. Experience delivering public presentations preferred.
ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.
LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.
VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.
OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
