This position will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all aspects of coaching, recruiting, and administering within the Women's Rugby program. Implements coaching strategies and methods to help student-athletes’ growth in athletic, interpersonal, academic, and teamwork skills; analyzes performance of team and adjusts strategies as needed; plans and conducts practices and other activities in preparation for competition; and actively recruits competitive and qualified individuals. The Women's Rugby program is actively seeking qualified and motivated individuals to apply for the position of Assistant Women's Rugby Coach, specializing in and having experience with scrums and forward play.
This is a part-time position and is a fantastic opportunity to work with a striving collegiate rugby club to play a key role in the club's continued development and success.
Endicott College competes during both the Fall (15’s) and Spring (7’s) semesters. The Assistant Coach will be expected to commit to a work schedule during the competitive season, which includes up to three practices per week, weekend matches, and prioritizing travel time to national tournaments, along with administrative tasks assigned by the head coach.

65% of Time: Assist in the organization and supervision of practices and games.
- Organize, design, and write practice plans
- Properly set-up and lead practices
- Organize team scouts to support team preparation for games
25 % of Time: Identify and recruit ideal student athletes to join the Women’s Rugby Program.
- Attend various events on campus to engage with potential students who may be interested in joining rugby.
- Engage with student athletes via social media to garner interest in the program.
10 % of Time: Continue to fundraise for the program and cultivate relationships with alumni.
- Plan and run an event where students, families, and friends have the opportunity to donate to the program.
- Hold an event where equipment can be sold.
- Continue to hold an annual alumni game.
The ideal candidate will exhibit the following experiences and skills:
- Knowledge of current USA Rugby laws, playing styles and coaching methods. Recent playing or coaching experience is a plus. Able to adapt coaching skills to the needs and goals of the team.
- Ability to teach players with varying levels of experience the fundamentals of rugby
- Strong understanding of offensive and defensive strategy, set pieces and situational decision-making
- Leadership and managerial skills
