25% of Time: Academic Programming & Development:
Collaborate with academic leadership to design and implement programming integrating civic engagement into the College’s educational offerings. This includes developing courses, workshops, and co-curricular activities that encourage student involvement in civic life.
25% of Time: Speaker Programs & President's Office Liaison:
Work closely with the President's Office to coordinate high-profile speaker series and events. These events will bring prominent civic leaders, scholars, and thought leaders to campus, fostering civil discourse and community dialogue.
25% of Time: Civic Participation & Career Opportunities:
Partner with the Community Service and Career & Internship Centers to develop hands-on civic participation opportunities for students. These opportunities include internships, service-learning projects, and community-based initiatives that engage students with local and national civic issues.
25% of Time: Fundraising & Advisory Board Development:
Liaise with the Institutional Advancement department to develop fundraising strategies, cultivate donor relationships, and establish an advisory board composed of civic-minded leaders, alumni, and philanthropists. Other duties will arise as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree or higher in relevant field (e.g., Public Policy, Political Science, Social Work, Education, or a related discipline) preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in civic engagement, community organizing, or higher education, or a related discipline is required.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-departmentally.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in event planning, fundraising, and donor relations is a plus.
- Passion for fostering civic responsibility and engagement among students, faculty, and the community.
- Proven ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders, including students, faculty, community leaders, and policymakers.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, civic participation, and community development.
