We are seeking an experienced safety and security professional for our Safety and Security Manager role at our residential trade and education center.
Job Summary: Manages planning, development, implementation, and oversight for safety, security, and transportation programs for the Center. Sets and maintains professional and ethical standards among department personnel. Directs staff engaged in providing safety & security for the center. Ensures departmental programs and standards meet all DOL, PRH, center, and company requirements.
Duties:
- Manages the safety, security, and transportation personnel team, to include mandatory training, coaching, evaluations, schedules, regular staff meetings, disciplinary actions, and incentive activities, with all required documentation submitted per standard operating procedures.
- Ensures the safety, health, and security of students and staff, by strictly enforcing center guidelines, including oversight of the Center Safety Program, and weekly management safety walks.
- Establishes vehicle checks, and policy reminders, for all individuals upon entry and exit of center property, and schedules foot patrols ensuring security staff remain vigilant in addressing and documenting potential safety hazards, traffic violations, suspicious activity, and irregularities in building inspections, etc...
- Assists management in developing and implementing MOUs with local law enforcement, fire, and local code officials and updates the Automated Tracking System (ATS) outlining corrective action taken to remedy deficiencies noted during OSH inspections.
- Schedules, conducts/oversees evaluation drills, fire drills, active shooter drills, etc., and conducts safety orientation with new students and new staff to include reviewing the center’s policies and procedures regarding unauthorized goods, searches, and seizures.
- Ensures appropriate investigation procedures are followed when incidents occur or when addressing student/staff complaints and follows the temporary segregation policy when behavior constitutes an immediate threat.
- Ensures official Significant Incident Reports are drafted according to Department of Labor and Corporate policies, providing written reports, oral reports, and briefings per standard policies.
- Coordinates center transportation by managing driver schedules, establishing vehicle maintenance/cleaning, ensuring transportation priority procedures are followed, and by following the notification and documentation policy in case of center vehicle accidents.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management within the employee’s capabilities.
Experience: Two years of supervisory experience in law enforcement, safety, military and one year management experience required.
Education: Associate degree required, Bachelors’ Degree preferred. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for a degree if approved by DOL and subject to waiver approval.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid State Drivers’ License. CDL endorsement preferred.
