Horizons Youth Services is looking for a substance abuse counselor to help shape the minds and well being of our youth at the Blue Ridge Job Corps Center!
Overall job description : Develops and implements Trainee Employee Assistance Program, which includes assessment, intervention, counseling, relapse prevention and education.
- Provides a minimum of a 1-hour interactive presentation on substance use prevention for all new students during the Career Preparation Period.
- Schedules and conducts at least three annual center-wide substance use prevention and education activities.
- Participates in clinical consultation with Center Director, management staff, Center Mental Health Consultant, and Health and Wellness Manager regarding substance use related prevention and education efforts for students and staff.
Certification : Active, unrestricted substance abuse license or certification that meets minimum state licensing or certification requirements to practice in the state where the center is located
Experience : Minimum 1year experience in field and minimum 1year working with youth or young adults preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Active, unrestricted substance abuse license and / or certification that meets minimum state licensing or certification requirements to practice in the state where the center is located. Valid Driver’s License.
