Job Summary:
The Testing Coordinator administers safeguards and physically controls a wide variety of tests. This worker may arrange for testing rooms and facilities, and become thoroughly familiar with the Examiner's Manual for the test(s) prior to testing. The Test Proctor issues all materials required for test administration, positively identifies all test takers, observes examinees during the test, conducts a page check of each examination prior to and following administration, may compile student assessment reports, and administer make-up tests in accordance with agency or contractual requirements. Testing materials are controlled items and are handled, stocked, safeguarded, inventoried, and administered in strict compliance with applicable regulations. The Testing Coordinator Coordinates and oversees all day-to-day aspects of the administration of a range of standardized testing activities conducted in a centralized testing center, to include development and coordination of testing program policies and procedures, training, and supervision of testing, and administration of testing carried out by proctors in accordance with established procedures. Manages the operation and maintenance of the center's computer testing room.
Duties:
- Annually obtain Job Corps training and certification on all online TABE STS policy, guidelines, and instructions through Job Corp’s SIMON system.
- Ensures Academic Integrity, which is defined as all work submitted by students is created solely by students and is an original representation of their work which includes classwork, practice, formative and summative assessments.
- Ensures that all test administration is carried out in compliance with relevant policies, regulations, guidelines, and standards.
- Ensures designated facility for TABE testing, and all testing equipment, materials, access codes, and records are kept secure.
- Administers the center's computer testing room, to include installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of computer/network hardware, software, and peripheral.
- Ensures initial and follow-up TABE tests are properly scheduled and administered as required by the PRH.
- Ensures students are enrolled in CIS and their photos saved in the database prior to taking the TABE for proper verification and accountability.
- Validates STS Testing Tickets are signed and dated by individual students and returned at the end of the testing session. Sign the STS Testing Tickets and forward to the student records department to be filed in each student’s permanent record.
- Maintain and publish a weekly list, each Monday morning, of students needing follow-up testing, using the CIS/STS-generated follow-up testing rosters.
- Ensures that all students’ test results and progress are documented and recorded using the automated Student Testing System (STS) of the Center Information System (CIS).
- Provide reasonable accommodation to any student with a documented disability that prevents the student from taking the TABE online. TABE testing accommodations entered into the Accommodation Plan Data Entry Screen will automatically appear on the STS Test Accommodations Screen.
- Ensures confidentiality of test results and recommendations; maintains security of testing materials.
- In collaboration with center management, ensures center’s procedures for scheduling, administering, and documenting student tests is included in the center’s Career Development Services System (CDSS) Plan.
- Ensures the center documents the reason for administering follow-up testing prior to the scheduled 90-day test date on the Request for Early Follow-up TABE Test Form, which shall be attached to the STS Testing Tickets and forwarded to the student records department to be filed in each student’s permanent record.
- Ensuring the safe custody and optimum use of equipment normally used during lessons and sees to its regular servicing and maintenance.
- Participating in assemblies.
- Registering and monitoring the attendance of assigned students.
- Participating in and contributing to students’ accommodation plans.
- Provide students with periodic feedback and assessments of progress in achieving their career development goals through the evaluation of student progress (ESP) system, as assigned.
- Initiates all requisitions on supplies needed for testing within his/her classroom
- Submits testing results to the training director
- Meets with instructions staff to discuss new trends, techniques, and problems with the learning gains
- Recommends changes in testing materials when needed.
- Initiate requisition(s) for Pre-GED tests and other testing materials, as needed.
- Maintaining good order and discipline amongst students under one’s care and safeguarding their health and safety at all times.
- Works towards meeting performance management goals.
- Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
- Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, company and center policies and procedures.
- Monitors, Mentors, and Models Career Success Standards and Employability Skills.
- Intervene and correct inappropriate student behavior and nonperformance.
- Complies with all state regulations related to testing and certification.
- Records and forwards daily attendance to the records department.
- Maintains building and equipment and ensures proper measures are taken for the care of equipment and supplies.
- Participates in PRH mandated staff training. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the individual’s scope and capabilities.
