Endless Mountain Extended Care, LLC is an all male 47 bed Drug and Alcohol treatment facility. The RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Nursing Department. This role involves performing client assessments and intake triage, coordinating referrals to transitional living, conducting health education for clients, providing comprehensive nursing care, and supporting physicians and other healthcare providers within our partner organizations. The RN Supervisor ensures that clients receive the appropriate mix of services in a timely manner.
Additionally, this position provides primary clinical support to external case management organizations, healthcare providers, and patients to assist with the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. The RN Supervisor oversees all aspects of the nursing department and is also responsible for being on call to address emergencies that may arise outside of regular working hours.
Job Duties
- Supervise all nursing staff to guarantee that Endless Mountains Extended Care (EMEC) operates as a safe and supportive environment for clients.
- Address client complaints and grievances, ensuring their timely communication to the Clinical Director.
- Provide clinical supervision for direct reports and conduct annual performance evaluations of employees.
- Ensure that all nursing staff adhere strictly to their defined scope of practice.
- Manage patient data and medical records with the utmost confidentiality, in compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
- Recruit, train, and oversee ongoing professional development for both new and existing nursing staff.
- Implement new procedures and deliver training to nursing staff on updated policies.
- Coordinate nursing staff schedules to ensure coverage for all open shifts and guarantee proper medication distribution.
- Oversee the processes of client intakes, discharges, scheduling, and transfers.
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to gather medical histories and manage the intake process effectively.
- Administer routine and as-needed (PRN) medications as clinically indicated.
- Supervise, delegate, and assign care responsibilities to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and Medication Technicians (Med Techs) appropriately.
- Provide educational resources regarding healthy recovery and addiction-related medical concepts and deliver training sessions as directed by the Program Director.
- Facilitate a weekly health-oriented group session for clients, lasting one hour.
- Oversee the comprehensive healthcare needs of each client at EMEC.
- Serve as the medical health advocate for clients, relaying their needs to the client care coordinator for necessary services.
- Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive list of health concerns for each client.
- Ensure that client records are accessible at every visit and available to all healthcare staff involved in the clients' care.
- Develop care coordination records as necessary and assist in the continuity of care from client admissions through discharge referrals.
- Oversee the nursing staff in the ordering of medication refills and the distribution of all client medications. Coordinates medication needs with our external case management organizations.
- Utilizes the Healthcare EMR system in client medication/care documentation.
- Provide education to clients as needed, encouraging active participation in their self-care.
- Provides reporting to the regulatory agencies as required and is present for annual survey and monitoring.
