Endoscopy Center of Bergen County has an immediate need for a full time A/R Collector. At Endoscopy Center of Bergen County (also known as Paramus Endoscopy, LLC) we believe health and care are inseparable. We focus on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for your surgical procedure. Our facility is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

Job Summary: The Collector will be responsible for working the facilities A/R report and collecting money due from the Insurance Company.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • If billing information in Advantx system is not correct, pull patient chart and make the necessary changes.
  • Correct rejection errors in Zirmed/Waystar.
  • An extensive knowledge of claims, reimbursement and collection efforts for Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Comp, Commercial plans, etc.
  • Answers and directs incoming calls in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates safe work habits in the work place with concern for the safety of patients and employees.
  • Keeps office area neat and organized.
  • Contact clients and collect outstanding payments.
  • Is consistently punctual and shows a responsible and dependable pattern of attendance.
  • Promotes positive working relationships among team members.
  • Attends BO meetings, center staff meetings and participates on any committees when requested.
  • Practices and adheres to all Policies & Procedures set by SSC & USPI/Tenet.
  • Provides lunch/break coverage for front desk when needed.

Required Skills:
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent office etiquette.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of the payment processing of a claim under a managed care contract.
  • Computer skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to foresee problems and be proactive in problem solving.
  • Prefer previous experience working with AdvantX (Patient Accounting System)
  • Alertness and adaptability to a change in a situation.
  • Holds all patient information confidential.
  • Ability to express ideas and views effectively through verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
