What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Maintenance Mechanic position at Enerbase?
The diesel maintenance mechanic position is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing diesel engines on a variety of equipment including large trucks and trailers, performing tasks such as routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations), inspecting components, and replacing parts as needed. This position will also provide preventive maintenance and repairs to other automobiles as needed. This is a service driven position stressing the importance of quality customer service. Position is supervised by the Service Shop Manager.
Essential Duties of Work (May not include all duties performed)
1. Thoroughly inspect diesel engine components including belts, hoses, fluids, brakes, and suspension systems to identify potential issues.
2. Identify faults within the diesel engine system, including electrical issues, fuel injection problems, and engine performance discrepancies. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues within the diesel engine system including wiring and sensors.
3. Perform routine repairs and maintenance tasks like oil changes, filter replacements, coolant checks, and tire rotations on light diesel vehicles and automobiles as needed.
4. Repair and replace malfunctioning diesel engine components such as starters, alternators, and cooling system parts.
5. Provide labor estimates and explain repairs to customers and regularly update service manager
6. Accurately document repair details, parts used, and customer information on work orders.
7. Willingness to learn with hands-on training
8. Assist in keeping shop clean and organized
9. All other duties as assigned.

2. Ability to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues with precision.
3. Expertise in using hand tools and specialized equipment for diesel engine repairs.
4. Familiarity with electronic tools to identify engine faults.
5. Capability to analyze complex issues and develop effective repair strategies.
6. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers and employees.
7. Meticulous approach to ensure all repairs are completed accurately.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience
Graduation from high school required. ASE certification or vocational school certificate and two years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance and repair of diesel vehicles preferred; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Requires a valid driver’s license.

Pay starts at $25.00 per hour but will be determined based on experience.
