Well Established Client in Odessa, Tx needs a :
Material Handler / Driver
Description : Material Handler / Distribution
Summary : The main objective of the Material Handler in the distribution facilities for the Industrial Group is to handle the receiving, storage, packaging, shipping and distribution of material within the warehouse setting. This may include : receiving, shipping, storing, organizing, packaging, pulling orders as well as loading and unloading material for customers and internal transfers. Loading and unloading material will require the operations of a forklift or pallet jack. The Material Handler positions will normally report to a Warehouse Supervisor or directly to the Branch Manager.
Depending on the warehouse / branch size, a Material Handler may specialize more in one area such as shipping or receiving or may have responsibilities in all warehouse areas as listed above. Some Material Handler may also be assigned Driver duties to pick up and deliver materials within the assigned branch territory.
Primary responsibilities :
- Pulls the correct quantity and product from designated inventory locations based on the picking / transfer ticket.
- Build cartons and packs product for outbound shipments / delivery ensuring that the product is not damaged and it is packaged securely for shipment.
- Completes deliveries by driving truck to and from customers or vendors as assigned.
- Unloads materials from trucks and verifies receipt of all delivered products / materials per packing slip or delivery ticket.
- Verifies that products received are as listed on vendor’s packing list and records quantities on PO Stock Ticket
- Stocks and stores product in designated inventory locations as per established protocols and records any new inventory locations on PO Stock Ticket
- Preforms inventory control audits per established protocols to ensure accuracy of inventory.
- Operates warehouse equipment such as (forklift, pallet jack, ladders).
- Completes daily forklift inspection as necessary and advises branch manager of any defects or issues with warehouse equipment.
- Ensured that company truck(s) are kept clean and that preventive maintenance checks are conducted per protocol. Advises Branch Manager or Warehouse Supervisor when there are operating issues or concerns with company vehicles.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallets, workstations tidy and organized.
- Follows safety precautions and protocols at all times.
