Position Summary

There are multiple workstations for the material control operator. Work will be balanced between these workstations where possible.

Each duty may not be performed at each workstation but the following duties are the responsibility of these operators.

Receives MRO, raw, and worked materials including all duties associated with receiving and reporting material receipts. Handles all entries and records for in-process, incoming, and outgoing materials.

Ships worked materials (parts and IP packed batteries) including all duties associated with shipping and reporting material shipments.

Ships finished goods when required.

Schedules shipment back to vendors for rejected materials.

Handles UPS and FedEx.

Arranges transportation with carriers to coordinate timely shipment of interplant parts and batteries based on current supermarkets within the plant.

Maintains organized inventory storage including cycle counting of materials , maintaining, and correcting records and investigating differences before making necessary inventory adjustments .

Recognize and distinguish between all storage locations.

Works with planner buyer with issues discovered while cycle counting. Investigates to find root causes to inventory issues.

Alerts planner / buyer if shortages arise. Track material issues in a database, take the lead role in finding and correcting root causes to material issues.

Orders material from Outside warehouse and / or the vendor on a daily basis.

Owner of the material supermarkets. Works with planner / buyer to resize markets based on customer demand. Takes lead role in working with planner / buyer, plant scheduler, and production in the material flow of the plant on a monthly basis.

Works with Scheduler to establish run orders on the production lines. Works within the daily communication board system to establish run orders on the production lines.

Direct activity of work cell operators to meet daily / weekly production goals and maintain area organization. The operator will be responsible for following all quality procedures as prescribed by the Value Streams.

All potential quality issues must be reported to the supervisor immediately.

Maintains pallet supermarkets, as well as ordering, receiving, and unloading pallets if necessary.

Maintains good housekeeping practices in their respective areas.

Must have the ability to operate a fork truck with a valid license so that when required, this operator can load or unload trucks and store materials.

Must have a driver’s license.

Must have a clear understanding of SAP, Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer programs. Recognize purchase orders, due dates, and vendors.

Recognize material shortages and read BOM’s.

The operator is expected to deliver the truck as scheduled for servicing and repairs. All repairs are to be reported by the operator to the supervisor.

The operator is responsible for recharging of battery as scheduled.

The operator is expected to be familar with the handling procedures for any toxic materials subject to contamination. Any discrepancy in the handling of improper operation of equipment should be reported to the supervisor immediately.

Safe work practices are to be maintained at all times.

The description of this operation covers only a general outline of the duties of the job. Due to the varied nature of daily operations, it is impossible to include a detail of all of the miscellaneous tasks that an operator may be called upon to do from day to day.

It is of course, understood that in every instance, the operator is expected to produce a full 8 hours and that the supervisor, where possible, will endeavor to provide a full eight hours work.

Operator, due to the nature of the job and particular circumstances at the time, may be called upon by their supervisor to perform other tasks in connection with the job which may overlap that of other tradesmen or workers.

It is understood that instances of this nature the tasks, as assigned, will be performed in the best interest of the company.

Responsibilities

Safety

• Thoroughly know and understand the JSHA and follow all safety procedures.
• Safety glasses with side shields will be worn at all times in the production area.
• Wear all personal protective equipment (., face shield, hearing protection, safety shoes,

safety glasses, gloves, in areas where they are required.

Never by-pass or open any guards to work on the equipment or clear errors before completely

Be familiar with the MSDS for hazardous materials in the area you are working. Make sure all

containers are properly labeled and stored.

• All lifting will be done with the legs, not by bending your back.
• All skids are to be laid flat on the floor, not on end.
• Keep the floor clear from slipping and tripping hazards.
• Report all unsafe practices / conditions to your supervisor immediately upon recognizing them

as unsafe.

• Know the location of emergency fire routes and exits, eyewash stations, and storm shelters.
• Avoid any unsafe working positions that might result in overexertion, falls, or strains. Always

use ergonomically correct procedures.

• Use the correct tools / equipment / materials for the job and use them safely and properly.
• All operators are to understand lockout / tagout procedure.

Quality / Production Duties

• Maintain a constant supply of materials to the machines as required.
• Clear all errors in the equipment and feed systems.
• Make all process adjustments necessary to assure good quality product.
• Assure all scrap is marked & contained properly.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and quality control charts.
• Perform specified operator maintenance as required.
• Assist the mechanic as required when machines are down.
• Perform all quality checks and maintain quality control charts as directed by the QE Dept.
• Complete all reports (production, downtime, quality, as directed by your supervisor.

General Items

• Maintain the work area in a clean orderly manner. Periodically wipe down the equipment.
• Promote good housekeeping throughout plant.
• Operators are expected to make constructive recommendations for operations improvement

and to help reduce waste.

Support a team-based environment by helping others, participating in, or the general support

of various teams.

We we are looking for

• At least 1 year of forklift operating experience
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to lifting, walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders
• Self-motivated with ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision
• Openings on the below shift :

10-hour Night shift 8p-6a Mon-Thurs.

• Must have good verbal and written communication skills
• Must have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills and abilities
