You’re in the right place! We are hiring for Energy Efficiency Engineer (Central Oregon Irrigation Outreach Specialist Engr. II – Sr.) at Energy 350 to serve on our industry and agriculture-focused contract with Energy Trust of Oregon.
Key Details:
- Location: Central Oregon or Klamath Falls. Relocation assistance is available.
- Travel: Travel to contractors throughout the state; approximately 50% of the time
- Pay: $80,000-$135,000 annually (Engineer II – Senior Engineer) with opportunities for advancement

Position Overview: This position supports outreach in the irrigation and agriculture space. The person is responsible for working with farmers, ag industry stakeholder groups, contractors, industrial and farming equipment vendors, distributors, and Energy Trust Trade Allies to spur energy efficiency projects at customer sites throughout the state. This is a very entrepreneurial position that includes a lot of creative problem solving, trial and error, collaboration and interaction with stakeholders, customers, and our client.
A typical day may include:
- Administer Energy Trust of Oregon Industrial & Agriculture energy efficiency incentive program.
- Engage contractors, vendors, and Trade Allies throughout the region that are active in the irrigation and ag sector.
- Work with contractors to streamline incentive application processes and overcome barriers to participation.
- Proactively communicate incentive payment status with contractors, vendors, and Trade Allies.
- Conduct 1:1 meetings or focus groups with contractors to identify barriers to participation in the incentive program.
- Present at events, conferences or trade shows to engage participants and spur project activity.
- Conduct data analysis to characterize our contractor network and identify gaps.
- Perform targeted outreach to underperforming contractors.
- Write technical reports for non-technical audiences.
- Provide excellent hands-on customer service.
- Work with contractors to develop customer projects
Qualifications:
We are looking for a technical person with a wide range of skills including excellent communication skills and the ability to actively engage the community to help industrial and irrigation contractors participate in energy efficiency incentive programs.
Ideal candidates will have some of the following skills and experience:
- Engineering degree and/or irrigation/ag experience required
- Experience in the energy efficiency or mechanical engineering field
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and terminology
- Awareness of local irrigation vendors
- Relationships with irrigation and ag vendors
- Working knowledge of pump systems, pump controls and pump curves
- Excellent data analysis skills
- An outgoing, high energy, resourceful, self-starter with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- A solution-oriented approach to solving problems
- Capability of working autonomously with good project & time management skills
- Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
