We are hiring Energy Efficiency Engineers at Energy 350 to join our team at our Portland HQ.

Energy efficiency engineers fill many roles across multiple teams and clients. We are currently hiring for multiple positions that are detailed on our careers page.

Key Details:

Location: Portland, OR. Positions are hybrid with a mix of working from home and from our office in Portland. Relocation assistance is available.

  • Travel: Positions serve contracts across multiple regions including Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California. Positions range from occasional travel to 50% travel to customer sites. Most travel is contained within the workday.
  • Pay: $75,000-$135,000 annually (Engineer I – Senior Engineer) with opportunities for advancement

Position Overview: Energy efficiency engineers can fill many roles across multiple teams and clients. Many of our energy efficiency engineers work with commercial and industrial customers to identify projects to reduce energy usage, quantify energy savings, and facilitate utility incentives. This includes a lot of problem solving, collaboration and interaction with coworkers, customers, vendors, and clients.

We are hiring for roles that include:

  • Conducting deep-dive technical energy efficiency studies on industrial and commercial mechanical systems
  • Administering Energy Trust of Oregon’s Industry and Agriculture energy efficiency incentive program
  • Outreaching to and engaging customers and contractors in the regional industrial community
  • Working with industrial and commercial customers to scope and develop energy efficiency projects
  • Working with mechanical contractors to scope commercial HVAC energy efficiency projects and communicating utility incentive program requirements 
  • Conducting on-site measurement and verification of energy projects
  • Writing clear and concise technical reports for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Performing research analyses to support efficiency initiatives and regional policies
  • Supporting Strategic Energy Management (SEM) at commercial and industrial sites 
  • Presenting at industry events and conferences

Qualifications:

We are looking for people with a wide range of technical and soft skills. Our engineers are excellent communicators who can deep-dive into a technical analysis while seeing the big picture of each project.

Ideal candidates will have some of the following skills and experience:

  • Engineering degree and/or great experience required
  • Experience in the energy efficiency or mechanical engineering field
  • Working knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems and building science
  • Experience analyzing commercial and industrial energy systems and quantifying annual energy savings
  • Ability to break down complex data sets to conduct root analysis and present meaningful observations applying data visualization tools 
  • Ability to identify mechanical and electrical equipment in the field and explain control methods and what retrofits or changes can be implemented to conserve energy.
  • A high energy, self-starter with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • A skilled problem-solver that is adaptable to dynamic settings
  • Capability of working autonomously and collaboratively on a team, with good project and time management skills
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • P.E., EIT, CEM, and/or CMVP preferred
