Energy Aspects currently has an exciting opportunity for an IT Desktop Support Technician to join our new office in Houston. This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate with Extensive knowledge of IT Desktop Infrastructure in Windows environments to join our highly regarded team and be part of our successful growth story.
The successful candidate will quickly take on a range of responsibilities and will contribute to the full cycle of our work from User Support, Operating Systems, Directory Services, Hosting & Cloud Services and Networking Technologies.
Reporting directly to the Head of IT Infrastructure, you will be responsible for providing knowledgeable advice and using your expertise to help end users solve their technology issues. This position would be ideal for individuals with up to ten years’ experience in IT, and a desire to join a growing company.
This position will require flexibility and the drive to go beyond the core hours when needed, ensuring we all fulfil our goals. You must be able to work independently, as well as be capable of planning and prioritising to achieve success. Key Responsibilities
- Provide local IT support to our staff members in Houston, New York and other users remotely.
- Manage local IT inventory and supplies.
- Work on service requests ensuring that the work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with department guidelines.
- Prepare and set up of new desks/computers and other IT hardware.
- Help with IT projects, deployments and changes.
- Maintain and update existing Knowledgebase documentation.
- Broader ad-hoc support to Head of IT Infrastructure when required.
- Assist with subscription and license management.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a face-to-face environment doing 1, 2- and 3-line Support on Windows environments.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related IT field.
- Proven experience and comfortable installing, configuring, and updating Unix and Mac Operating Systems.
- Windows 11/10, server 2016/2019,
- Excellent understanding of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, Subnetting, NAT, Firewalls, VPN, etc.
- Good knowledge of Office 2019, 2021.
- Good understanding of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory and Office 365
- Excellent computer and networking hardware knowledge
- Good communicator whether face-to-face, telephone or electronic interaction
- Good understanding and proven experience with Windows Defender, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Teams
- Good understanding of Cisco Technologies including Meraki
- Industry certifications such as ITIL, CCNP, CompTIA, Cyber Security.
